Bank Teller Cover Letter

A bank teller is responsible for processing monetary transactions of clients such as deposits, withdrawals, cashing checks, and loan payments. In addition, this person performs majority of the bankís everyday transactions. Interested bank teller applicants must have a well-written resume and cover letter to get the employerís initial impression. Below is a bank teller cover letter sample that can be used for guidance when it comes to writing your own.

Dear Mr. Higgins,

I am Mary Hickman and Iím actively seeking for possible employment opportunities in the banking industry. Fortunately, I was referred by Mr. Robert Jimms, the financial consultant of my university, to your company. He mentioned that you are currently in need of an experienced applicant to fill the bank teller position for your Scottsdale branch. Having been in the banking industry for quite some time now, I am confident that my skills and experience would make me a suitable candidate for the position.

I completed the degree of Bachelor of Science major in Commerce in Strayer University. I have also earned units in my Masters in Business Management and still have plans of completing my Masterís degree. I have worked for a total of seven years in the field of banking, starting out as an on-the-job trainee of Wisconsin State. I was taken in by the same banking company as a Loans Assistant for about two years and luckily got promoted as a New Accounts Teller. After which, I tried my luck at Wells Fargo Bank as a Bank Teller for about four years.

I have built a solid foundation of my banking career given my work experiences. However, I need to face another phase in my life, which is to settle down and start a family and this has pressed me to give up a good-paying job in Wisconsin so I can accompany my husband who recently got relocated in his job here in Arizona.

Apart from my skills and expertise in banking, I also possess good customer service skills, which, I believe, is necessary in dealing with clients. I am highly organized and efficient in performing my duties at work. I have attended many seminars and workshops dealing with financial concepts, customer service, leadership and management programs, and federal banking.

I have attached a recommendation letter from my former bank manager in our previous branch, Mr. Todd Cone, who can also serve as my primary character reference. With my solid experience and extensive knowledge in banking, I can guarantee that I will be a great contribution to the growth and success of First International Bank & Trust.

I am willing to come in for an interview at your earliest convenience. I can be contacted at the information provided above. Thank you very much for taking the time to read through my application.

Sincerely yours,

Clara Driscoll
